Andrey Lubimtsev's Summary

Andrey Lubimtsev was born in Russia and started studying the piano at the age of eight. After taking lessons for a number of years, he studied at the Irkutsk Central Music School and later at the Irkutsk College of Music and Art.

At the age of 19, he performed in the Irkutsk Philharmonic with Sobolev's group. One of Andrey's highest achievements occurred in 1990, when Andrey performed his original compositions in Brussels, Belgium at the cultural exchange program, sharing the stage with celebrity Russian musicians and composers, such as Gennady Gladkov and Vladimir Kuzmin.

One year later, Andrey decided to pursue his music career abroad and relocated to the United States. For the last 15 years he has taught professionally, 9 of which he instructed at a local music store in Camp Hill, PA.

Andrey continues to perform locally with various musicians and is currently a member of the fusion, jazz, funk band Funktion.

Andrey has an extensive knowledge of piano, music theory, ear training, improvisation, composition, songwriting and arrangement.
